George Town, Grand Cayman, 8 th March 2007 - The Cayman Islands' Crisis Centre and WestStar TV Ltd. have joined forces to provide free digital cable television service to the residents of the Cayman Islands' Crisis Centre.

The staff at the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre came up with the idea of installing WestStar's television service to help clients and their children feel at home and to provide them with entertainment and an educational resource.   When the Crisis Centre contacted WestStar to request digital cable television service, the local television company was delighted to help and Anthony Gregory, Chief Technician of West Star TV Ltd. installed the cable box the next day.

It is imperative that these abused women and children feel comfortable and content while staying at the CICC to lessen the chance of them returning to their abusive home, as well as to provide them with a feeling of normalcy,” says Nina Scott acting Director CICC.   “This long-term donation by WestStar will help current and future abused women and children feel more at ease. The CICC is awestruck by WestStar's swift assistance and we are extremely grateful for the company's philanthropic efforts and sense of social responsibility in aiding victims of Family Violence.”

Richard Corbin, WestStar Operations Manager added, “The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre provides an extremely important service to the Cayman Islands.   As a non-profit organisation, the Centre needs support from local businesses and we are delighted to be in a position to help.”
